Core Commitments

Commitment To God’s Word – The Bible is God’s truth.  Consistent expository teaching and application of what God has said in His Word is a must (2 Tim 3:16-4:2; Heb. 4:12).

Commitment To The Great Commission – The church is commanded to take the gospel to all the nations, including this one. Therefore, the church should be making disciples locally and globally (Matt. 28:16-20).

Commitment To Dependent Expectant Prayer – Prayer is the life-blood of the church.  Every aspect of ministry must be saturated with humble surrender and confident intercession (Matt 7:7-11, Matt 21:13, Acts 1:13-14).

Commitment to Gospel Community – We are committed to doing life together around Christ, as was the practice of the early church. We desperately need to be together and encourage one another in the faith. The gospel sets us free to be real with one another, enjoy one another, and love one another as Christ loves us (Acts 2:42-47).

Commitment To Plurality Of Servant Leadership – Multiple elders who respect and value one another and who serve God’s people in humility must lead the church.  The elder body must  be made up of men who meet the qualifications in God’s Word (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9, Acts 20:28, 1 Pet 5:13).

Commitment To God-Honoring Worship – Worship is regulated by God’s Word. Believers gather to worship and be equipped and spread out to evangelize.  Sunday services are God-directed worship that results in the edification of His saints (Acts 2:42, 1 Cor. 14:24-26).

Commitment To Church Discipline And Restoration – Even though it is unpopular in today’s culture, we are committed to following the complete biblical process when a professing Christian is in sin.  This is always to be done with patience, gentleness, and prayer for restoration (Matt. 18:15-35, 1 Cor. 5).

Commitment To Cooperative Ministry – Every believer has a part in the work of the ministry.  Christians should be characterized by compassion for the needy, both inside and outside of the church (Eph. 2:10, 4:11-16, James 1:27).
