To the Church in Laodicea, The Repulsive Church(Revelation 3:14-22)

Main Point: Believe Christ’s Word, buy Christ’s riches, and look forward to Christ’s reward.

I. Christ Diagnoses a Repulsive Church – 3:14-17.

Application

  1. Ephesus – In the business of ministry, guard against your heart growing cold and losing your first love.
  2. Smyrna – Do not fear suffering for Christ. It is necessary in this world.
  3. Pergamum – Watch out for worldliness. Be content and press into community with those who walk closely with Jesus.
  4. Thyatira – Beware of a false love that tolerates false teaching and compromises with sin. 
  5. Sardis – Do not become complacent with the gospel. It is the fountain of love for Christ and the antidote to a dead heart and church.
  6. Philadelphia – Embrace your weakness and trust in the Lord’s strength and wisdom in the trials of this life. 
  7. Laodicea – Always hear Christ’s Word, believe His gospel, hope in His grace, live for His glory, and look to his reward.
